We have found that the overnight flight is easiest and gives you the most time at the resort. However, you will likely be very tired if you don't get a nap in prior to departure, so we advise planning accordingly!
We will actually be arriving to The Bahamas on Sunday, so you're welcome to join us for an extra day if you wish. Please make sure you check into the resort no later than Monday though!
American Airlines is the only airline that flies from the US to Exuma, Bahamas. You can fly direct to Exuma from Miami (our recommended location), Atlanta, Ft. Lauderdale, or Charlotte. If you have airline miles to get to one of those locations on another airline, you could take American from there to Exuma. Definitely worth looking into!
Weather
Average Bahamas temperatures in November are 82° high / 75° low with average rainfall of 3.78 inches and an average of 17 rain days during the month. Like other tropical locations, rain should be expected, but it is typically quite warm and relatively comfortable despite the rain. A rain jacket or umbrella is recommended.
For other FAQ’s specific to the Bahamas, you can also click on this link below. And don't forget to read the FAQ portion of our website. Simply click the tab at the top called "FAQs".
This is the official, legal ceremony portion - the actual wedding :)
3:30pm - Ceremony at Grand Isle Resort
Transportation from Paradise Bay will be provided
Cocktail Hour, Dinner Reception, and Beach Bonfire Immediately to Follow
Wedding Beach Attire
Sorry, this does not mean swimsuits and floaties! But it does mean comfortable, relaxed outfits! Think flowy summer dresses, linen pants, tropical shirts, lightweight clothing. We will be taking lots of family and group photos so look cute ;)
Unless you want to match Brittany, please do not wear all white. This is still a wedding!
We will not be in the sand at all for the ceremony nor the reception. Sandals, boat shoes (Nick's favorites are Hey Dudes!), or anything comfortable are recommended.
On average, the weather in the Bahamas in November is low to mid 80s for the high, and 70* for the low. ie, it's going to be beautiful! There will be a breeze and will be a little humid, normal Caribbean weather. Please make sure to check the weather and dress appropriately!
Most importantly, we want you to be comfortable :)
Some photo ideas below:
Let's enjoy the resort! This is a free day to enjoy the sand, beautiful weather, and either the ocean or the pools! Take advantage of all the amazing offerings at the resort.
We will not be booking a group excursion, but of course you're welcome to do an excursion on your own! Exuma is the island known for the Famous Swimming with the Pigs! Some excursion options: snorkeling, swimming with nurse sharks, feeding stingrays, boat tours, jeep tours, ATV tours, iguana encounters, sea turtles, deep sea fishing, and more!
Paradise Bay has a couple options and Grand Isle has a ton of options.
This will conclude the Bahamas portion of the vacation. From here, guests may depart home or may continue on in the travel plans with us! We will be staying at a Disney Resort in Orlando to prepare for 1 Day at Disney World to follow. Disney World is optional.
If you will be joining on the cruise but do not want to join us at Disney World, you can stay at a hotel near the cruise port or in Orlando. More details on the travel page.
If you are not joining for the cruise, feel free to make your vacation longer and stay in the Bahamas for a few more days!
Disney's Pop Century Resort
We have booked our rooms at Disney's Pop Century Resort. It is the nicest, most cost effective resort. You are welcome to stay at a different resort if you wish.
Thurs, 11/13 - $222
Fri, 11/14 - $250
(check out on Sat, 11/15)
If you are joining us on the cruise, transportation can be booked from any of the Disney Resorts. We have ours booked from this resort if you'd like to ride with us to the Port.
We chose this resort in particular due to the high satisfaction ratings and relative low price when compared to other Disney World Resorts. You certainly do not need to stay at this resort and can make any accommodations you prefer. Your vacation, your choice!
What will the weather be like in Orlando?
Average Orlando temperatures in November are 78° with average rainfall of 2.24 inches and an average of 15 rain days during the month. Like other tropical locations, rain should be expected, but it is typically quite warm and relatively comfortable despite the rain. A rain jacket or umbrella is recommended.
As mentioned, we will be staying at a Disney Resort Thursday night, and will spend all day on Friday at Disney World. Even if you don't join us at Disney World, we do advise staying at a Disney Resort for included transportation to the Disney Cruise Port Terminal. Details on the Travel page if you do not wish to stay at a Disney Resort.
Disney Tickets - for those joining at Disney, we will be getting a "One Day, One Park" ticket for Magic Kingdom.
Do I have to wear Disney Ears or other Disney attire?
Although Disney Ears, hats and other Disney attire is strongly recommended, it is not required. With that said, the Bride-to-be would definitely be much happier, it would promote further inclusivity of celebration activities, and would better reinforce why you were invited if you did!
What should I wear?
You should definitely wear comfortable shoes and active type clothing. It is also recommended to bring a rain jacket, umbrella or poncho in case it rains during the day. When we were there last November, it was warm during the day and cold in the evening. We wore long workout type pants and short sleeve shirts during the day and sweatshirts in the evenings and were comfortable.
It is also highly recommended, but not required, to wear Disney Ears or hat, and other Disney apparel. See above.

We created you a cheat sheet with everything you need to know about going on a Disney Cruise! Here is most (not all) of what we learned from our first trip on a Disney Cruise. We hope it makes life much easier for you as you start to prepare for this exciting journey! Let us know if you have any other questions we can assist in answering.
What part of the Caribbean will the cruise be going to and what stops will it be making?
We will be cruising the Western Caribbean Merrytime Cruise which leaves from Port Canaveral (Florida) and stops in Cozumel (Mexico) George Town (Grand Cayman), Falmouth (Jamaica), Disney’s Private Island “Castaway Cay” (Bahamas) and ending back in Port Canaveral (Florida).
What will the weather be like on the cruise?
We will be starting in Port Canaveral Florida and then making (4) stops as we cruise.
Average Port Canaveral, Florida temperatures in November are 78° with average rainfall of 2.48 inches and an average of 16 rain days during the month. Like other tropical locations, rain should be expected, but it is typically quite warm and relatively comfortable despite the rain. A rain jacket or umbrella is recommended.
Average Caribbean temperatures in November are 76° with average rainfall of 6.14 inches and an average of 22 rain days during the month. Like other tropical locations, rain should be expected, but it is typically quite warm and relatively comfortable despite the rain. A rain jacket or umbrella is recommended.
Average Cozumel, Mexico temperatures in November are 82° with average rainfall of 4.96 inches and an average of 19 rain days during the month. Like other tropical locations, rain should be expected, but it is typically quite warm and relatively comfortable despite the rain. A rain jacket or umbrella is recommended.
Average Georgetown, Grand Cayman temperatures in November are 84° with average rainfall of 6.38 inches and an average of 22 rain days during the month. Like other tropical locations, rain should be expected, but it is typically quite warm and relatively comfortable despite the rain. A rain jacket or umbrella is recommended.
Average Falmouth, Jamaica temperatures in November are 86° with average rainfall of 5.91 inches and an average of 23 rain days during the month. Like other tropical locations, rain should be expected, but it is typically quite warm and relatively comfortable despite the rain. A rain jacket or umbrella is recommended.
Average Castaway Cay, Bahamas temperatures in November are 81° with average rainfall of 3.78 inches and an average of 17 rain days during the month. Like other tropical locations, rain should be expected, but it is typically quite warm and relatively comfortable despite the rain. A rain jacket or umbrella is recommended.
What is a "Very Merrytime Cruise"?
This is Disney’s “magical holiday sailing” time that brings the joy of the season to live on the high seas. Available on all Disney ships during the holiday season, these festive voyages are packed with seasonal decor, exclusive entertainment, and family-friendly activities.
What should I pack for the cruise?
You will need a variety of clothing options, including beach wear for sunbathing on the ship or while in port, active wear for workouts in the ships gym, or while doing active excursions at the ports, casual wear for dinners and shows and formal wear for formal nights. In addition, you may want to pack an umbrella or rain jacket for any potential rainy days, sunscreen, toiletries and we recommend bug spray for those that think they may want it and motion sickness patches, wristbands and pills as a precautionary for those that think they might need it. However, please keep in mind that Brittany gets motion sickness relatively easy and was fine without using the motion sickness options we brought, but better safe than sorry.
Because we love you all so much and want this to be the best family vacation EVER, we have created a "What to Pack" checklist for you to make it easy on you :) Click the link below to view, download, and print!
Is there an Adults Only area on the Disney Cruise?
Yes there is and it is wonderful. The Disney Cruise is amazing for young children and families. However, if you are an adult hoping for some time away from kids on such a vacation, the cruise does offer great adult only area, which includes an adult only pool, spa, lounge areas, etc.
Does Disney offer all-inclusive type Alcohol Drink Packages?
Unfortunately, no. Disney does offer Beer Packages and Wine Packages and does allow each passenger over 21 years of age to bring 2 bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 oz) on board at the beginning of the voyage and at each port of call, but does not otherwise offer traditional Alcohol Drink Packages.
You can add Disney Transportation directly to the airport from the Cruise Port. We HIGHLY recommend booking this! It is very difficult to book alternative transportation from the port.
VERY IMPORTANT - Make sure to book a late afternoon / evening flight home on Saturday. It will take some time to get off of the ship, onto the Disney bus, and to the airport. You don't want to add unnecessary stress by having an early flight!
Breakfast will be at 8am, then our debarkation time will likely be around 9am or 9:30am. Make sure your flight is no earlier than about 1pm!
